MCI----Maximal cetane improvement of poor quality diesel กกกก

R & D Background
กกกกMHUG can increase cetane number of poor quality diesel, but its diesel yield is relatively low. Hydrofining, on the other hand, can produce more diesel, but has limited capability in cetane number improvement (around 5 unit). In MCI process, poor quality diesel, particularly RFCC diesel undergoes deep HDS, HDN, olefin saturation, aromatics partially saturation/ring-opening and successive hydro -saturation (little cracking).

 Features of MCI process

  • Improve storage stability and considerably increase dieselกฏs cetane number by over 10 units.

  • Diesel yield over 95m%

  • Operating conditions and modes similar to existed hydrofining process, therefore, there is no, or little need for revamping existed hydrofining units to adopt MCI process.
