Solvent
deasphalting (SDA)
Solvent
asphalting process in refineries is mainly used for
producing deasphalted oil (DAO), which can be the base oil
for lubricant or feedstock for secondary processing. The
by-product, oil-free asphalt, is a good asphalt material
for its low wax content. Therefore, solvent deasphalting
can be regarded as a main approach to decreasing wax
content in asphalt products.
Aerial
oxidation
The
process increases the molecular weight of asphalt and
hardens it by introduces air into high temperature
asphalt, resulting in a series of reactions such as
dehydrogenation, oxidation, and condensation. Aerial
oxidation is mainly used for producing paving and
construction asphalt products with low ductility and high
penetration.
Blending
Blending
is to mix different proper materials according to certain
mixing ratio and produce asphalt products. In many cases,
by adjusting the mixing ratio, we can control certain
characteristics of asphalt products.
Polymer
modification
Polymer
modification means to add rubber, resin or other materials
to modify the performance of asphalt products. With the
increasing demand for more and better paving and
construction asphalts in recent years, polymer
modification has undergone big improvement which in
reflected in the fact that modifiers have changed from
polyolefin resin materials to SBS
(styrene-butadiene-styrene block copolymer) materials. The
mode of production has also transferred from on-site
production to coexistence of on-site production and plant
production.
Besides,
FRIPP has also made progress in asphalt emulsifying
technologies and asphalt emulsifiers for synthesizing
special asphalt products, based on which several flexible
and efficient processes have been developed.
