Research Institute of Petroleum and Petrochemicals, FRIPP
for short, directly under the leadership of China
Petrochemical Corporation (SINOPEC), was founded in 1953.
After 50 years of strenuous and pioneering efforts, FRIPP
has grown into a comprehensive research & development
base with hydro-catalysis, bioengineering, environmental
protection, asphalt and specialty waxes as the core
R&D fields and petrochemical technology and research
facility/equipment development as key research fields, in
which more than 90% of hydrocracking, 60% of hydrorefining
and 90% of residue hydrogenation catalysts and their
technology were taken up in the domestic market. There are
around 500 professionals out of 700 employees in the
FRIPP.
To
speed up the development of science and technology and
further keep and absorb high level personnel, SINOPEC Corp
has decided to set up Ningbo Research Institute of
Petroleum and Petrochemicals (NRIPP) in Ningbo, Zhejiang
on the basis of Research and Development part of the
FRIPP. She has sighed the working agreement with Ningbo
Municipal Government on the setting up of Ningbo Research
Institute of Petroleum and Petrochemicals (NRIPP) and was
officially unveiled, which is expected to be finished by
the end of 2006. We sincerely welcome all those who devote
to the technical innovation and research and development
to join our forces.
